This was a veg out book for me after I fried my brain working on "economics of the French revolution" all weekend. It worked really well as an escape, not terribly true to life, lots of hot guys and action of one kind or another. Some of the descriptions of vampire zombies were a little much for lunch time, so don't eat while you read it, but it's pretty fluffy beyond that.
It was engrossing, I kept picking it up, but the ending fell apart for me a little bit. Some books can be really weak, but end so well they make you think good things, this was the opposite. Lots of early promise and page turning, but the last conflict wasn't a big enough deal, one of the plot lines could've tied up better, and apparently there was a love triangle that I wasn't aware of. Even now thinking about the ending makes me want to take off another star when it really was a decent kind of book.
