"Anthem" is a far more accessible read that Rand's other offerings. I love dystopic fiction and Rand creates, in a very sparse narrative, a compelling tale of a man and woman with the courage to escape a stifling society. I personally like Rand's writings so I enjoyed this novel. I guess my only complaint is that the narrative is very sparse and I didn't get enough of the society as I would have liked. However, I found myself rooting for the characters throughout and enjoyed how Rand stayed true to their interpretation of the world by relfecting their limited knowledge through a limited vocabulary. Besides, one should enjoy the sparseness of "Anthem" because Rand's other novels are beyond meaty. Great read and great introduction to Rand.
