it was amazing
bookshelves: fantasy
Read from September 01 to 05, 2011

I read the first two and really enjoyed them - why did it take me three years to get around to reading the conclusion? There are just too many books I want to read, I guess ...

This trilogy goes out with its best stuff. Lots of threads mentioned in the earlier books that seemed passing or insignificant at the time come together and make sense, building to the climax of the story. Characters use their strengths and are the best versions of themselves. I actually have a hard time imagining why people wouldn't like this ending - I saw it as very happy. Sanderson's strengths, in my opinion, are plotting, world-building, and character. His prose doesn't always bowl me over, but it draws me in and keeps me involved, and here that is enough.
