I think that A Stranger Came Ashore will always be my favorite by Mollie Hunter, but Thomas and the Warlock was a great, quick read. It felt a lot like a fairy tale told to teach the dangers of poaching. The blacksmith Thomas Thomson, who loved to poach from his laird's estate, should have listened to all those who warned him not to. He especially should have listened to warnings about poaching in the Warlock's Wood! My favorite character was Alexander, Thomas' son. I thought he really showed his strength of character when things got tough.

This has been on my to-read list since 2008, so I'm happy to finally be able to check it off! I would love to read everything written by Mollie Hunter, but they are often difficult to find.
