For you ladies that like your hero to be a straight up good guy this isnt the book for you.. But if you dont mind your hero playing in that gray area then read this book. Tess would have done about anything to get away from her over dominate, basically slave driving father.. So when a handsome cop starts paying attention to her she cant resist him and marries him.. Two years and 1 child later she realizes she made a grave mistake.. For he is a serial killer that has murdered ten women. With Tess help the police are finally able to capture him.. But two years later he manages to escape with one thing on his mind - killing his ex-wife... Tess realizes she needs to learn to defend herself and learn how to shoot a gun because the only way she is coming out of this is if her ex husband is dead.. She shows up at JT Dillion house who is an ex marine to enlist in his help.. But JT is a shell of a man who goes on week long tequila binges to forget that he lost his wife and son. He also had a crappy childhood and just in general doesnt give a crap about anything..
