A good classic, a nice, clean family book. Some violence among the animals, but nature does tend to be violent. I thought it was funny that in the introduction by the author, Adams says he never intended for the book to be an allegory or metaphor in any way, but just a bedtime story for his kids. And now they teach it in schools--finding all the metaphors and allegorical meaning they can. But I suppose we read for what we get out of something, not necessarily what the author intended.
I don't know what I can say about this book. The characters are rabbits. They are all different and have their own unique personalities and attributes. They are loveable and you find yourself rooting for them during their various adventures and misadventures. And then it all ends happily ever after (or for 3-5 years, the average lifespan of a rabbit).
