For a moment, an old picture frame becomes more interesting that the photo it frames. We look at the curls and chipped paint of the frame, but always our eyes can not escape the picture itself. The picture is of a young girl with exploring eyes and pensive lips.

Miep Gies was one of the key people involved in hiding the Frank family and friends in "The Annex." This very brief autobiographical sketch shows the fascinating side of the struggles people in Amsterdam had just to survive. For the hidden certainly, but also for those who kept the hidden.

How can more be added to the Anne Frank story that hasn't already been told? Just enough. Just enough for us to see the frame surrounding that precious little girl.
