Revolting Rhymes sees Roald Dahl take some of the most notable fairy tales and put his own twist on them. The fact that so many young people know the classic stories is what makes Dahl's re-interpretations of them so funny. He takes well known tales and exaggerates the characters and twists the plots, for example Little Red Riding Hood is not the innocent young girl we see in the original story!
The rhyme is simple throughout and, together with the rhythm one builds up whilst reading, means that this is a book which is even better when read aloud.
