This is the first book in the series and was certainly better than the 8th. The mystery, again, was well wrapped and although I had an inkling who it was, there were plenty of red herrings to throw the reader off. Again, I'm not sure how plausible it is that the main character ("Kelly") arrives in town and instantly makes three best friends within a few days. But then again, I'm not from a small town, so maybe it does happen. The coffee references were nowhere near as obnoxious as in the 8th book, but definitely beginning to set the stage. Also, Sefton gives seems to give Kelly an almost psychic instinct where she can instantly know if someone is telling the truth or not. Ummmm, not so sure about that. But the characters are likeable and it's a quick read. I've already got book two which I'm looking forward to.
