I won this book through the Goodreads Gievaways. I am not much of a poetry fan but the decription of this book sounded interesting. The author seems angry. She is angry with who she is and her personal history as well as U.S. and world history. I don't mind anger aimed at historical atrocities but Abe Lincoln? Her "real deal" from the poem entitled 'Land of Lincoln (They Say)' seems like her opinion instead of historical fact. Most of her historical references seem like opinion. I don't like anger and I guess I don't like poetry.
