This book starts out strong! A lot of fun stories about the president growing up and early political aspirations... But once you get past the first couple of chapters it starts to really slow down. There is a lot of explaining why he did this or that and although he seems to have good reasons and really believes in his decisions, it just goes a little flat.

The book is way too long and some of the subjects just aren't very interesting. I completely enjoyed the early years and the 9/11 stuff, but the financial crisis and Katrina and the wars, well, they just were too bland.

It could have been a lot of fun, if it was shorter. Overall it feels like a justification for those who disagree with him and that was just not very interesting.

If you are going to read it, I would highly suggest you pick and choose the parts you read.
