Even though I have always been underweight due to cystic fibrosis (rather than having lots of clutter to lose), I used this book to help myself take on the challenge to heal my body. It actually helped me strengthen my body, and I gained 20 lbs after reading this. My whole life I'd been encouraged to eat massive amounts of fattening foods to gain weight. Unfortunately I was not interested in building muscle by exercising, because I was afraid of burning calories! Now I exercise to build muscle, which makes my doctors happy because I have an almost normal body mass index! I learned to let go of my emotional attachment to white chocolate covered Oreo cookies (which I would eat by the box, since they only come out during the holiday season). Now I buy and freeze 5 boxes to last me the whole year; yep, I eat 1 cookie per week. Since I have diabetes, I shouldn't eat sweets everyday (except fruit), and my liver can't take too many preservatives, so I figure it can handle that amount. I no longer feel driven to gorge myself because I get to have it all year long! Anyway, this book helped me to heal myself beyond my goals.
