From the opening chapters, I didn't think I was going to like this book, but then it started to suck me in and I found it hard to put down. The characters, both villains and heroes/heroines, are pleasingly three dimensional and I enjoyed the imagery of the "furycrafting", being a bit of a twist on regular magical powers. The pace of the story was pretty blistering, although I did find the final battle scene maybe just a little toooo drawn out for my attention span - but that could just be me :-).

I have already ordered the next book in the series from the library and looking forward to reading more.
