I love these adventure type stories. This one appealed to me for two reasons: the story and the fact that it took place on Mount Rainier (in my home state).

The story is exciting. There is a slow build-up at the beginning with some background info, but it was interesting to read. When the two friends finally go up Mount Rainier and achieve their goal, the heartbeat quickens. I know what's coming next...

The story of their tragedy was heartbreaking. I kid you not, I cried no less than half a dozen times during this book.

Since I'm not knowledgeable of climbing lingo or anything some of the book was over my head. Really, the part I enjoyed reading was the personal/friendship/human aspect of it. The heartbreak that the survivor goes through was compelling and relate-able.

I recommend this book!
