It makes me sad to give this book only 3 stars Davis Sedaris is one of my favorites but I think this book may have been a little twister, even for me. This book is sort of like Aesop's fable of the french la Fontaine. All the animal stories have a message, some are better than others and some of more perverse than others. While some of the stories were funny I found it more poignant than humorous. The humor I did find in this book was the kind that made me smile but nothing that made me laugh out loud mid paragraph, as I have come to expect David Sedaris. I would recommend this book to anyone who has already read David Sedaris but if you haven't don't start with this one, start with some of his personal narratives which I find much funnier.
