Angie McCullagh Really? I cannot get into it! The writing, ugh! I'm about 50 pages in..so I should keep going, huh?

Sassy Hm. I really liked it, but I'm not sure it is one of those books where it just takes a while to get into it. It has been a while, but it seems like I remember liking it from the beginning. I think that I really liked the way she showed the reality of the civil war from a more complex, layered perspective than the usual. You know, we still think about that stuff a lot more in the south than probably anywhere else. I liked that it showed a southern perspective that wasn't about ignorance or hatred or defense of slavery.
