I think I've read this before... except it was set in St. Petersburg and was written by this guy named Fyodor and was interesting and thought provoking. Definitely a disappointment compared to Gaiman's other books; I know now why I had never heard of it before. If I really wanted to reread a Dostoevsky novel it'd be Crime and Punishment, and I only got little over half-way through Anansi Boys through before I decided I had too many other books I wanted to read to spend more time on this. I almost never just stop reading books - the last time was 3 years ago (For Whom the Bell Tolls), and the time before that was when I was in elementary school (Robinson Crusoe).
