I really wanted to like this story, but it's hard for me to feel romantic or sexy when a story begins with the death of a pet. I was too busy grieving to enjoy the rest of the story, otherwise it might have been a 4 star read. Maybe. The conflict is one that's old and tired for me, that makes me roll my eyes at characters at best, smack them at worst. All this doesn't meant I won't try something else from this author in the future, though.
