I didn't know if I ought to finish this book, concerned as it was primarily with adultery and its affects. That's in nearly every book I read, and, as a religious person, it bothers me. Should I be reading such a thing? I'm reading all of Ms. Picoult's works now though, and as I questioned myself, I was already hooked into the storyline. That is was more an issue in this novel made me wonder. At the end, I can only say, that much more was involved in this love story concerning couples, and that I came to care about the results, regardless. All of her novels are doing that to me - I care about the characters as if they were real; they appear to be -living, loving, flawed, human - Real!
This book is well worth reading. The story of love, loyalty, truth, law - make for a compelling read.
