Second Skin is the third book in Caitlin Kittredge's Nocturne City series and was lying on my shelf for months before I finally opened the book. Why? Well, mostly because the main character Luna is so incredibly contrary, abrasive and stubborn that she gets on my nerves from time to time. I still like her, but I'm not always in the mood to deal with her. It feels as if she is getting worse with every book. There appears to be no character development to speak off. I got really fed up with her constant bickering with Dimitri as well as with the way their interaction.

Having said that, once I started reading Second Skin I kept turning the pages until I reached the end. The story simply pulled me in and wouldn't let me go. The ending was great, so much so that I immediately ordered the next book, but I do hope Luna will stop picking useless fights with everyone.
