really liked it
bookshelves: listened

I listened to this beautiful, lyrical novel exquisitely performed by Jessica Almasy. Jamie is excited when her brother announces he has enlisted on the Army and will likely be sent to Vietnam. He sends Jamie pictures to develop and through them Jamie learns that war may not be all she thought it was.

I loved this novel for the language, the southern accents, and the glimpse into that time period. I also think it can teach us a lot about our current realities, too.
