This is a profound and great book about how agribusiness has despoiled our land and made us even more dependent on the petrochemical industry. It is wise and alarming. It is about the exploitation of the many for the benefit of the corporations, the rich, and the powerful. This is the first time I've read anything by Wendell Berry, and I'm awed by the breadth and depth of his thinking. I wish this book could be "required reading" for all Americans.
