bookshelves: children-s-books, equality, culture-diversity, history, inspirational, race, respect, metaphors

A story written by Sharon Robinson and Kadir Nelson illustrated the courage of Jackie Robinson for being the pioneer of being the first African American professional baseball player in American history. The book is a great demonstration of what metaphor means. It is also an inspirational story about the courage it took to stand up for racial equality. This is a great resource for teaching American history, culture, diversity, or metaphors.
