I thought the topic of this book was fascinating and prompts some very important ethical questions about medical research. I did learn a lot about HeLa and Henrietta Lacks. I did think that the book could have used some more editing and/or deciding on a slightly different way to tell the story. As it is Skloot tells both the story of the Henrietta and also her own story about tracking down the story of the HeLa cells and the woman behind them.

This is book happens to be the book for One Book One Northwestern this year and my office mate is the person who coordinates the program. I am looking forward to the programing that will take place around this book.
