This is a powerful and heart wrenching book set in the middle east. I found it compelling and gripping and very interesting, but I never quite came to understand the main character or why he did the things he did. Some scenes were extremely unsettling to me, even though they were necessary, and I wish they had been told just a little differently so as not to have left me feeling so icky. How's that for using a grown up word? I chose not to see the movie.

Whitney Sam and I watched the movie a few weeks ago and I was very pleased with how they portrayed the story from the book. Its clean and I think you'd like it.

Josi Good to know, Whit--thanks for the follow up. Maybe I will see it then.
