This is another book I read sometime in the last year and didn't review at the time. I thought of it because, for some reason, I was thinking about the movie "Gone Baby Gone", which I've seen three times and somehow sticks with me because of the whole giving-Amanda-back-to-her-rotten-mother issue. One of my close friends at the circuit court where I work is the court social worker; we've discussed this at length because had Amanda been the subject of a custody investigation rather than a criminal one, things would probably have been very different!

I read this book because it was a sequel to "GBG" and I wanted to see what happened later. A very easy read, and written very "screenplay"-ish -- I could definitely picture the people and the action as it was going along. The train-crash sequence would be very dramatic on-screen!

So, not "great literature", but certainly gripping and involving, and I would recommend it if you like crime-mystery types of books, OR have seen (or read) "Gone Baby Gone"...
