The writing style is fabulous! Duncan's wordsmithing is excellent - I learned a lot of new words! But the sinning became a bit tedious and, at times, far more graphic than was strictly necessary to make the point. Not even the humour - and there were some very funny moments - was enough to take the edge off in places; perhaps it even made things worse now and then (some things are just not funny). I have to say that many of the biblical interpretations were intriguing - much food for thought here. The ending fell a little flat, though. I think that Duncan could have wrapped this one up in a much better way, though, I admit, I have no idea what that way could be.
