Awesome book! Wonderful development of characters and plenty of action. A fiesty young woman's husband was recently murdered in LA. In her quest to do something completely different from the emergency room, urban, high adrenaline pace (and get away from the environment that killed her husband), she accepts a nurse practioner position in Virgin River (without even visiting it), a very, very rural area in the remote mountains. She barely gets there with her BMW convertible (slides off the road in the rain) only to be greeted by an ornary doctor who doesn't want her there and a rent-free cabin that hasn't been lived in for a long time and looks like it will keel over any minute. A little romance, but plenty of action and development. Wonderful book, looking forward to #2.
