I was pretty impressed with this piece of literature. It was really sad though. There was a silver lining of course, and the viewpoint from Caitlin was eye opening and magical at times, but man, was it sad. Following the story of a girl who has Aspergers, and how she copes with the death of her brother is going to be an struggle to read no matter what. I started this book on Saturday morning and finished it later that night, and let me tell you, it was a doozy... but one that was completely worth it. The language, the spelling of words, the struggle that one has when faced with the unknown, it's all so solid. I'm excited to talk about this book at book club and see what the students thought of it, because if it was anything like my reading journey, it promises to be an emotional book club.
