really liked it
bookshelves: biography
Recommended for: Religious Scholars

Surprisingly good. I picked it up on a lark. Although the first 50 pages are terribly boring, it picks up. The excellent scholarship Rice uses in describing pre-B.C. Hebrew rituals and culture makes this a wonderful read for Anthropology students interested in the topic. Worth reading for historical acuracy alone.
