Rick Yancey I really hope your post doesn't mean you have a pirated copy of my book. I know it doesn't seem like you're taking anything (if it's as readily available as you say), but in fact you are. I am a working writer who relies solely on royalties to pay my bills, and this sort of thing is why they shut down napster. There is no difference. Please, if you do like the book, you can find legitimate copies at a very cheap price. I hope you will purchase one.

Don't worry, Rick. I have a copy of nearly every book I enjoy. I just don't want to buy a book and then end up hating it and feel cheated.

Yes, I pirate, and I don't hide that fact. If I like your book, I'm always going to try and get it because a PDF is severely temporary and I like the feel of a hardback in my hand.

John Egbert And excuse me, but are you actually the author? As in Rick Yancey? Just wondering.

Rick Yancey The Monstrumologist is available in most libraries. Those copies are already purchased. Maybe you could check out a book from there instead of obtaining a pirated copy to decide if you like it. Just sayin' And yes, I am the author.

John Egbert You know what, I can totally see where you're coming from. I think I will put a library copy on hold. It'll make it easier for me to read it, anyway, so why not?

And it's really, really cool that I'm talking to the author of this book. Just sayin'

Unfortunately, our library doesn't have a copy Mello. We'll have to use interlibrary loan.

Question, if you check the book out and alternatively use a PDF and the book for reading, is that alright? Just curious.
