The story of a young woman who became a black revolutionary. I appreciated hearing how she came to learn stuff. She doesn't shy away from showing that at first she didn't know something, and then she did. Like that Africans fought back whenever they could during and after being brought to this continent to be slaves. She didn't learn that in school. I appreciated how personal she got.
Lots of food for thought for me, a white woman.
