I'm not exactly sure I can explain what went wrong with this book for me. The writing was good and the storyline was fine.

I guess it's... character dynamics and their personalities that I disliked. The author might have tried describing Stef as perfect, but I for me he was not likable. He would just get pissed for no reason and be stupid about things. The way he communicated felt so weird and disjointed. His attitude wasn't believably explained or explored.

Rand, on the other hand, was too... domineering. When Stef got pissed off, Rand seemed condescending and indulgent. Like 'aaw, look at him getting all pissed at me, how cute. I'll just push some more and it'll be all better'. He was too pushy to get his own way.

I guess I just don't like the harlequin-esque top-bottom dynamic that went on here. I don't know if that's basis enough to dislike a book, but I like my romance characters on a more equal standing.
