Wow! Stephen's been urging me to read this book for years and I'm so glad I finally did. What a brilliant read! It really encompasses the sheer emotional stress that a woman went through entering the religious life Pre-Vatican II. In a word: intense! I have a newfound respect and admiration for those who could stick it out, particularly back then! Not sure who to suggest this book for, but I suppose anyone who's curious about the religious lifestyle, particularly Catholics, but really any intellectual type would probably enjoy this if they're open-minded enough.
