really liked it
Read from August 20 to September 04, 2011

Well, I liked it, but I'm not sure why. It's all mood and atmosphere, which can easily go either way, and I would say that I've found as many brooding and fatalistic stories to be boring and stupid as hell as I've ended up liking them. This one falls on the good side; even though, I cannot for the life of me put my finger on whatever ephemeral quality this one has that places it on the good side. If you're looking for plot, look elsewhere. This isn't about plot. It's about mood, fatalism and depression. Sure, there are occasional nods toward a plot but keep looking or waiting for it to kick-in and you will be sadly disappointed. Even the ending is not so much of a "oh, of course" as it is a "oh, I suppose that makes sense."
