1957 Caldecott Medal Winner

Color pages alternate with black and white... looks like oil paintings maybe with some ink(?) Probably mostly paint.

I thought this was a pretty cool book to introduce kids to the importance of trees. This line made me smile, though: "We build playhouses out of the leaves. Then we pile them up with our rakes and have a bonfire." Yes, children, unleash the pyro within, mwahahahaha!
