The one where Death takes an apprentice, and then he takes a holiday.

This is an early book, and it shows. There's a particular problem with the resolution of Mort's fatal mistake -- Death takes care of it all, offstage, so one minute you're in deadly peril and the next minute you're at a wedding.

Still, the spark is there; Death is always a pleasure; and, though there's a distressing dearth of witches, there's a great cameo from the Unseen University crowd.
