Ehhh. This was recommended as something else I'd enjoy after having my literary love affair with Kage Baker, but alas, Julian May hasn't grabbed me. I got about halfway through this book but just don't care enough about the characters to go any further. They're all annoying and whiny, and there are too many of them. May just hasn't created any sympathy in the reader for any of these characters. Some of them are outright assholes and others are whiny psychics and others are just... boring. So I don't think I will be finishing this. If anyone has finished this (or the entire series) and thinks I should give it another shot, I will.

Wealhtheow I read something Julian May had cowritten with Marion Zimmer Bradley and Andre Norton, and it was *awful*.
