The Darcys & the Bingleys: A Tale of Two Gentlemen's Marriages to Two Most Devoted Sisters (Pride and Prejudice Continues, # 1)

The Darcy’s and The Bingley’s” by Marsha Altman is on of my favorite continuations of Jane Austen’s ‘Pride and Prejudice’.
Altman manages to stay true to the spirit of the original while simultaneously making them her own. In this first, of a series of books, she chronicles the days leading up to and following the Darcy/Bingley wedding.
There is a certain modernity to the book, that makes it engaging. While it is accurate to the time period, the voice of the author brings the text alive in today’s world.
Altman even manages to introduce several characters of her own creation to the mix, without detracting from the plot. This is an uncommon feat for most series continuations.
“The Darcy’s and The Bingley’s” is a fun, and witty read. It is the beginning of a series that I first discovered on FanFiction.net, that is slowly being translated from an Internet published series into a hardbound series.
The stories themselves are still available under the author’s pen name, D J Clawson, and I highly recommend checking them out.
