I found this book in a consignment shop over a year ago, I read it and although it did have some impact on me, I didn't "get it". Then this summer, I found myself jobless, out of school, and in a new relationship with someone I really loved and want to spend the rest of my life with. I found myself facing all sorts of challenges with my identity which I had previously based on what I DID instead of who I WAS. I knew this was going to cause issues in my relationship as it had before and I didn't want that, neither did I want to live in unhappiness till the next job came along or till I could get back in school. This book-was a godsend for me. It's hard for me to describe fully how much it meant to me, let's just say it completely changed how I viewed God and changed how I saw myself. This is NOT a book that lists all the ways you are failing in life and 10 steps on how to change it, instead this book goes directly to your heart, your deepest desires (whether you are aware of them or not) and the desires of God. It's pure brilliance and I would like to hug Jon and Stasi for getting this message out there. Anyways, enough of my blabbing..buy it, borrow it...read it..don't rush through it, savor it, think about it and pray about it and I would be willing to wager it will change your life as well.
