bookshelves: study, audiobook
Read from August 16 to September 03, 2011 — I own a copy

What could be such a good book is somewhat marred by being HORRENDOUSLY DULL. The characters and their attitudes had the ability to really work the story forward but the entire book is padded down with so much nonsense and then ends so abruptly- I didn't even realise.
All that in consideration, I enjoyed the subject matter considerably. I liked the way the sisters were, I adored their personalities. I liked the way the book evoked a sense of place, both in the literal sense with city versus country but also in the way of class and female roles in society.
I think if the book had been less drone-like then I would've enjoyed it a lot more.
