Read from August 22 to 25, 2011

I wouldn't have picked up this book if Jess and Tina hadn't been so OMFGTHISISAWESOME about it, because I usually don't like to read books about romance without a supernatural theme. I don't know why, to be honest, because it's basically the same, only with real-life situations. Nothing about this book was original, as many people have stated before me, but that doesn't mean I didn't enjoy the hell out of it. I wasn't expecting to like it, because I'm in a state where I'm fairly sure real and deep rooted love is something I'll never get to experience in my own life. I know this sounds terribly depressing, but I can't help it. However... -squeals- I loved this.

I know the American school system is very different from ours here in Belgium, and I have no idea what it means to be Little Miss Perfect, but I can imagine the amount of pressure it brings along. The odd part is that Jaden only seemed to suffer from pressure and stress when she wasn't being perfect. It was fun watching her let go.

And Parker, now well... I won't act as if the leather jacket and the bike didn't play a part in why I like him so much, but the main reason for wanting him to push me up against the wall is because he's so smart and insightful, and above all, interesting. -dreamy eyes- I really like interesting guys.

When the plot unravels itself and we finally find out what's going on, I couldn't help but think about (I'm putting this next bit in a spoiler tag because if you read the books I'm about to mention, but not this book, then I can promise you I'll ruin the story entirely for you) (view spoiler). The plot is slightly similar.

Anyways, if you are looking for something sweet and nice, then look no further and pick this up.

Kim Tina, Jess, I am enjoying it so far :) Although the rumors are starting off pretty early in this one xD I mean sheesh, she sits with him for lunch and already she's giving birth to his triplets.

JoJo, well it's true, but I suspect Jaden will turn around after she got herself a real man lol.

Jessica LOL :)

Jessica Rating? :)

message 18: by Kim (new) - rated it 4 stars

Kim Nomes, I've had my Kindle since April 2010, and there hasn't been a single day where I regretted buying it :) I'm not saying you should get a Kindle, but definitely an ereader!

Aw Tina thanks :) And thank you for your review of this book, without it I wouldn't even have considered it.

Thanks JoJo ^^

I'm sure you won't regret it Amber and thanks xD

Nomes i would get a kindle right now if i could. have to confer with my husband ... i can sneak all kinds of random books into the house but i think he would notice me hanging out with a kindle ;)

Yeah you are, Kim. Stop lying. Also, I totally read the spoiler even though you told me not to. Anyway, (view spoiler) *slaps own hand* I'll never learn.

message 21: by Kim (new) - rated it 4 stars

Kim Then what are you waiting for :D Cheap cheap cheap!

Flannery, I... CAN'T.... LIE!!!

Yes, talk to him. It's really a good investment. If I didn't own it, I would have to spend 100 EUR soon for a new bookshelf, because some of the books I've stored on it are keepers and some are manuscripts which I would have printed out in huge paper stacks (and kept them) .

message 23: by Nomes (new) - added it

Nomes I SHOULD GET ONE BEFORE I GO TO BALI IN 4 WEEKS TIME. AM ALREADY MULLING OVER HOW MANY BOOKS I WILL NEED TO PACK FOR A TWO WEEK TRIP OVERSEAS ...

(sorry, didn;t realise caps was on ...)

Nomes sorry to half spam your thread kim. quick question: is this the right kindle to get and what is the go with the special offers one being cheaper? (in the link above)

message 25: by Janina (new)

Janina I'm sad to be kindle-less right now, too ... all the great reviews for Flat-Out Love are practically spamming ;) my feed and the paperback is really expensive. Also, I have all those e-books on my laptop I really want to read. But I think I'm just not an e-reader kind of person - plus don't have the money to actually buy one ;).

message 26: by Nomes (new) - added it

Nomes i want flatout love too :( and it is $25 including postage to Australia). I am not sure if I am an ereader kind of person either but i am thinking i would like to try it out

message 27: by Amber (new) - added it

Amber Nomes~ once you start using one you will begin to love it. So much easier than taking books everywhere and you don't have to worry about the pages getting tattered.

message 28: by Nomes (new) - added it

Nomes thanks amber. GOOD NEWS.

convo with my husband tonight:

me: (all casual-like) soooo, i've been thinking about getting a kindle ...

him: (instant) so get one then

me: O.o

him: (moved on already to the next topic)

he didn't even ask how much they are, etc. nor does he realise the single button click temptation that books will be for me once i have one ;). muahahaha

message 29: by Amber (new) - added it

Amber YAY! I think you will love it. Not only that, but they are a little cheaper now then they were. BONUS!

LOL. Sounds exactly like my convo with hubby:)

I have a Nook, but regardless, you will love your ereader. Very convenient for all those egalleys.

message 31: by Nomes (new) - added it

Nomes LOL Tatiana. I was thinking I would have to warm him up for it, or wait for a gift occasion.

I have not even joined netgalley (not a fan of computer screen reading ~ who is, really?) ~ I'll be joining now.

It's ordered. Postage was ridiculous. It only came with the one option: priority international courier for $27 (killer!) and estimated arrival by 7th September.

I feel nervous for some reason, haha. Hope I like it :)

I guess I am still a little stunned it was that easy to get one, a few clicks a couple of minutes after my husband dismissed me, LOL. (thought I'd better go ahead asap, you know, just in case ;)

message 32: by Tatiana (new)

Tatiana I was also thinking to butter him up to get me the ereader for B-Day or something and he was like - go get it now. And I got it the same evening:)

It is much better than reading books on a laptop, much better.

JoJo - JJJ (Jo Anna) Janesko @Nomes congrats on the Kindle!!!! I am glad it went smoothly with the hubby. I am still debating on a Nook or a Kindle. It is such a difficult decision. My birthday is approaching and that is what I am asking for so I need to figure it out soon.

message 34: by Kim (new) - rated it 4 stars

Kim Yay congrats girl! :)

I don't know which one is better, but I can say I'm very happy with my Kindle. The only thing I might regret about it is that I didn't buy the bigger one, but that's about it.

message 35: by Amber (new) - added it

Amber I don't know for sure, but I heard if something is wrong with the Kindle battery you have to send it in to Amazon. Barns&Nobles carry them in their store as well as Walmart. Maybe Kim knows since she has one.

JoJo - JJJ (Jo Anna) Janesko Yes the battery issue sounds like a huge drawback however I believe Best Buy carries the Kindle and I know the AT&T store does as well. I am so torn! Can you surf the internet and check email etc on the Kindle? From what I understand you can with the Nook.

message 37: by Amber (new) - added it

Amber Yes, you can with the nook. I am unsure about the kindle though.

message 38: by oliviasbooks (last edited Aug 26, 2011 09:29AM) (new) - rated it 4 stars

oliviasbooks The Kindle's battery is unremovable. You can send your Kindle in and get a replacement Kindle (for a certain price, I believe). At least that's how I understood it. It's pretty wasteful.

For uns in Europe the Nook is no option because B+N doesn't sell e-Books to us and doesn't accept European credit cards.

oliviasbooks Congratulations, Nomes!!

You can. There is a wfi-only one and one with free internet connection. But surfing is quite tedious (scrolling by button) and a bit bad on the eyes. The black and white screen is perfect for reading books, but not so good with all kinds of shady backgrounds and pictures.

JoJo - JJJ (Jo Anna) Janesko Thanks guys you all are very helpful!! I too think it is quit wasteful Olivia.

message 42: by Amber (new) - added it

Amber The best one would be prob. the Nook color if you don't mind spending the extra money. It is all touch-screen and you can add apps on it like Facebook, goodreads etc. oh, and your email. I do believe it's wifi only though.

oliviasbooks I would always go with an non-glare, no light e-ink display (= no color). I want the paper illusion and I don't want to tire my eyes.

message 44: by Kim (new) - rated it 4 stars

Kim Battery life on my Kindle is very good, I have no idea how fast it runs out, but I do know I can read more than one book on it.

JoJo - JJJ (Jo Anna) Janesko I am very torn.

message 46: by Tatiana (new)

Tatiana It all depends on where you are planning to get your ebooks from, where you live etc. Both Nook and Kindle have their advantages. I have a Nook and I chose it because I borrow ebooks from my library and read a lot of egalleys. Kindle doesn't always support these formats (from what I know).

JoJo - JJJ (Jo Anna) Janesko Thank you so much Tatiana. I have to admit I am not familiar with egalleys.

These are ARCs we get from NetGalley and Galley Grab. Sometimes they are Kindle-friendly, sometimes they are not.

JoJo - JJJ (Jo Anna) Janesko The ARCs are usually available to those who do blogs correct?

message 50: by Tatiana (new)

Tatiana Yes, bloggers, reviewers, librarians.
