Dark Parties was a thrilling debut. It may be a touch similar to other dystopian novels I’ve read over the years (woman need to breed so the government can have more “mindless zombies” to control) but I believe it can hold it’s own on the shelves. It is much darker, violent and vivid than other dystopians I’ve read this year. Also the characters are amazingly flawed and unique! Perfect! While the ending seemed a bit fast, it left off at a great part for Sara Grant to decide whether or not to continue as a series. While I think it would make a great standalone novel (heck we need more of them out there!), I also can’t wait to read more from the author. This is one 2011 debut you cannot pass up!
