For a book of this type, being dry or repetitive is not necessarily fatal, but for this book in particular the absolute lack of anecdotes or liveliness make it sterile and useful mainly for those who need references and who aren't afraid to either wing it or stupify themselves trying to find some particularly sharp statement or noteworthy passage in this book.

Oh it can be interesting, but most of the interest will be your response and questions and whatever imagery the book manages to create for you. I guess I know something about the Chimbu and many other clans now. I have little doubt better books on this subject exist. Great pictures, too!
