Filthy Rich is a hardboiled crime story told from the muscle's point of view, in this case, an ex-footballer named "Junk".

I liked this book enough to check out some other entries in the Vertigo Crime series, but it could have been better.

The art style was pretty sloppy, so I sometimes had a hard time differentiating characters, which is a cardinal sin, as far as I'm concerned. I can deal with complicated plots as long as I can make out the difference between dark haired guy #1, dark haired guy #2, and dark haired guy #3 in a black and white comic.

Sadly, I sometimes had to do a little sleuthing on my own to figure out who exactly was saying what, and that hurt my enjoyment of an otherwise decent piece of hardboiled fiction.
