One certainly needs to develop a taste for Dickens - and I have it - though I go notoriously slow because of his description of characters (which is where some of the best humor is). That being said, Nicholas Nickleby was an enjoyable book, and worth the read. Perhaps the most outstanding aspect is that the protagonist is a man of great principle and will not settle for watching on the sidelines when it comes to doing the right thing. We continue to need men of character like this today.
