If there were 1/2 stars, I'd give this book a solid 3.5. I bumped it up to 4 only because of my love for Bill Bryson's work. I listened to this on audio, read by the author, and he does a fabulous job. The amount of research alone that went into this book is beyond impressive, let alone the author's ability to interweave so many numerous tidbits into an interesting listen/read.
The reason I would give it 3.5 if I could is for the same reason. Toward the end I felt like the book was rambling and I sort of lost interest. I've learned that with Bryson I Love his books pertaining to personal experience (travel, growing up,etc.), and only "like", while appreciating, his other works.
