it was amazing

People often refer to this last book by Austen as "autumnal," and that pretty much describes the tone. But even though the story lacks some of the passion and intricate plotting of her earlier works, Persuasion has its own pleasures. The writing is smooth as a fine old wine - and, like an old wine, it's a book to be savored rather than gulped down in a few sittings.
