Quick reads. The mystery part is getting smoother and making more sense compared to the first collection. The 3 cases bring us into slightly different worlds: the rich and connected, gay-for-pay, the club scene; but, they all centre around families and young men who figuring their way out. Actually, it was the different issues that raised my rating on these... and that I get a giggle reading these with a 1940's narrator in my head. I got a little bored with the erotica and Nick's mooning over his ex. Missed the humour of the first collection. Did however like Nick and Harker's comfortable yet uncomfortable relationship. But holy baggage popping out of the woodwork from the start.
