In the book Bud not Buddy Bud's mom died when he was six years old. Bud then went to live in an orphanage. Before his mom died one thing she told him is "never let anyone call you Buddy, Buddy is a dog's name". That's where the book received its title "Bud Not Buddy". Now Bud is ten years old and is in a foster home. The foster family doesn't believe anything Bud has to say over their son even when they know he is wrong. Bud was locked in a shed because of him and stung by wasps. Bud decided to ran away and set out on a mission to find his dad. His dad lived in Grand Rapids. Bud had to travel from Flint to Grand Rapids with just the clothes on his back and the suit case he dragged every where . When Bud gets to Grand Rapids there is a big surprise. The man he thought was his dad turned out to be his grandfather. I think the book was sad and funny. Sad because his mother died and at first he had nobody. Funny because he poured water in his foster brother's bed. It also made me laugh when Mr.Lefty was talking about his daughter's pancakes too. I really enjoyed the book and the twist in the story when Bud went looking for his father but found his grandfather instead.
